Kieran’s new Block E location opens today
“Kieran’s new location, inside the former Bellanotte, is not just an opportunity for the pub, but a new direction for Block E. As it now stands, Block E possesses a movie theater and a few chain restaurants — let’s pick that apart. With a limited number of downtown residents, the complex’s success hinges on 2.5 million other metro dwellers as well as tourists. But an Applebee’s? A multiplex? Folks in Plymouth and Eden Prairie already have those options, and don’t need to waste parking expenses and gas to get to them. Block E offers little unique draw, but maybe [Kieran] Folliard can be a torchbearer for change. ‘I think we just need a few more local, independent operators coming in here to bring some local flair, energy and attention,’ Folliard says.”

The new Kieran’s opens today at 4PM with live music from from Wild Colonial Bhoys and St. Dominic’s Trio. More.
So I finally got around to doing something I have been meaning to do for a long time — which was to set up a tumblelog solely for Twin Cities stuff like the Kieran’s note above. You can find it here. I will continue to post more random, half-baked stuff at this location.
Also, fair warning: the new blog will probably have a ton of stuff on Target Field in the upcoming weeks — even though I’m sort of vaguely horrified by the Targetization of everything Minneapolis.
Whatever, I’m excited. (OUTDOOR FUCKING BASEBALL!!!)
